The Year To Come
Let’s try this blogging thing one more time, shall we? I’ll get to it in the upcoming 2026, but I figure now is a good time to lay some groundwork. I’m not sure yet what I want to talk about, but I do know I want to keep track of goals and objectives.
In 2025 I set a goal for myself to watch every single Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie, as well as a number of connected movies. The latter are not officially part of the MCU, but instead have ties to the MCU movies through the Multiverse. For example, Spider-Man: No Way Home brought in the two previous Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, so their films became related to the MCU. Similarly, Deadpool & Wolverine brought in a number of other characters. As of the time I post this the only movie I have left is Fantastic Four: First Steps, which I actually saw twice earlier this year when it was in theaters, but I decided I wanted to watch the movies in order, so it gets one more viewing. I’ll talk more about this project in another post.
By the same token, my objective to continue watching all of Star Trek in order (minus the three JJ Abrams-verse movies) has progressed. That will also get its own post.
For games I just wanted to finish one game a month, which I did, if you fudge it a bit. Again, another post.
Lastly, for books my only objective was to read at least one page a day, or listen to at least one minute of an audiobook. Thanks to my volunteer work with the Talking Book Library I actually went significantly beyond this mark on most days. That will be several posts, probably.
And, for 2026 I will take a look forward. My goals will be a bit less ambitious, but writing regularly will be joining the list. What this form will take I don’t know yet, but I’m thinking on it.
That’s it for now. As I said, this was just a groundwork post and more details will come later.
Peace, Love and Gratitude to all,
